DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) Plant

Dimethyl sulfoxide (shorted as DMSO) is a sulfur-containing organic compound, remaining a colorless and transparent liquid in atmospheric temperature. It has the characteristics of high polarity, high boiling point, good thermal stability, non-protonic, and miscible with water. It can dissolve in ethanol, propanol, benzene, chloroform, and most organic substances. It is known as the universal solvent.

Introduction

It has the characteristics of high polarity, high boiling point, good thermal stability, non-protonic, and miscible with water. It can dissolve in ethanol, propanol, benzene, chloroform, and most organic substances. It is known as the universal solvent.

With our production technology, hydrogen sulfide and methanol are taken as raw material for synthesis of DMS and MM which are oxidized by hydrogen peroxide (HP) to obtain DMSO, composed of DMS synthesis unit, DMS purification unit, DMSO synthesis unit and DMSO purification unit.

    • Dimethyl sulfide (DMS) oxidation occurs at low temperatures (50–80°C) and atmospheric pressure, avoiding strong acids or high-pressure equipment, reducing energy consumption and complexity.

  4. High-Purity Product:

    • Avoids nitrate residues from traditional methods, achieving >99.5% purity, suitable for high-end applications (e.g., pharmaceuticals, electronics).
