SL-TECH has developed Reaction-Distillation Process. It integrates the reaction and separation process, i.e., the reaction takes place at the same time as the non-reacted RM is separated from the product. The technology proposed by SL-TECH is based on the condensation of acetic acid and methanol over a solid acid catalyst. Under normal operation, this catalyst has an average service life of three years or longer. And the reaction conditions are moderate.
Technical Features
Reactive Distillation: compared to the traditional separative reaction and distillation technology, REACTIVE DISTILLATION has advantages as follows:
● High selectivity: inhibiting side reaction
● High Conversion Yield: product are continuously removed
● Low Energy Consumption: the reaction heat used as the heating source for vaporization.
● Easy Control of Reaction Temperature: reaction heat are consumed and temperature is limited by vapor-liquid equilibrium.
● Acetic acid id not only the RM but also the extraction agent to counter-flow extract water from the water-methyl acetate azeotrope, which simplify the purification.
Low Investment: short synthesis and purification route, low equipment cost.
Solid Acid Catalyst: compared to the traditional sulfuric acid catalyst, ACID ION EXCHANGE RESIN has advantages of:
● Less side reactions and higher selectivity
● Low corrosion and less requirement for equipment MOC, and less investment
● Simple post-treatment and less production cost
● less pollution
